The City of Laguna Niguel publishes the boundary of all 120 homeowner associations inside the city, and they form a clean partition: 5,469.5 acres of parts against a 5,469.4 acre union, so no two of them overlap and no ground is counted twice. Nine of the 120 were set aside because the city's own address layer places fewer than ten homes inside them. Those are master associations whose polygons hold shared slopes and common ground rather than housing, a recreation club and a six-unit condominium association. The fifty below are the ones that then rank in the top thirty-seven of the register on either the acreage the city draws or the homes its address layer counts inside that acreage; sixty-one smaller associations fall below that line. Where a master association and its locals both appear, the city cuts the locals out of the master, so the two never describe the same homes.
