How Park Aliso Villa was built
Park Aliso Villa carries the name the Mission Viejo Company gave this stretch of ground when Aliso Villa opened in 1971, one of two neighborhoods the company opened that year alongside Madrid. It is a much smaller piece of that story than its condominium neighbors: the city's own map draws Park Aliso Villa as a compact, separate pocket of 57 homes on about 10.6 acres, threaded by five streets, a fraction of the size of the 424-unit and 220-unit Aliso Villas condominium associations that also grew out of the same 1971 opening a short distance away.
The houses inside the enclave came later than the name. Its own tract was recorded in 1976 and the city dates the homes to 1977, in the same northern stretch of the young community, a year before Lake Mission Viejo opened and well before the 1984 Olympics or cityhood in 1988 reshaped the rest of Mission Viejo around it.
