How Woodlake Villas was built
Woodlake Villas went up on South Idaho Street in August 1977, 118 units across 11.5 acres, the earlier and more spread out of the two Woodlake associations the city draws. Woodlake Village I followed two years later a quarter mile north, on less ground and with more homes packed onto it.
Vista Del Valle Park is the largest open space on the same street, 26.68 acres kept as natural park with a gazebo, picnic benches and Japanese cherry plantings. The valley the park name refers to was Rancho Canada de La Habra, 6,698 acres granted to Mariano Reyes Roldan in 1839 and bought by Abel Stearns in the 1860s.
