Overview
About Springhurst
Springhurst covers 15.5 acres measured against the city's published boundary and holds 103 residential addresses among the 128 the address layer records inside the line. Only one address carries a unit designator and the assessor classes all 103 dwellings as single-family residential. Nine named streets serve them across 0.69 miles, six of them circles, running Gum Tree Lane, Goldsport, Sweetwater, Sunbeam, Idlewild, Mapledale, Maplegrove and Shamrock off Springhurst Drive.
City zoning and the general plan both read essentially the whole boundary as residential low density. The assessor's median building is 1,658 square feet on a median lot of 2,850, with a tenth to ninetieth percentile band of 1,198 to 1,740 square feet, and 66 of the dated structures are two story against 37 that are single. Six addresses carry a pool. The community sits outside the Coastal Zone appeal jurisdiction, and the bus stop layer records two stops within 250 meters. It is the only community on this register inside the Ocean View High attendance area.

How Springhurst was built
Springhurst is a small pocket on the east side of Huntington Beach with an unusually long build record for its size. One home dates to 1951, which puts it before the great wave, and the other 102 homes were finished in the 1970s, on about 15 acres. That spread tells you the land was in use before the tract went in and was filled in later, which was common on this side of town.
The transformation was fast when it came. The city had 11,492 residents in 1960 and 115,960 in 1970. Springhurst carries the mild garden naming of that period, Gum Tree Lane, Sweetwater Circle, Sunbeam Circle, Goldsport Circle and Idlewild Circle, names chosen to sound like somewhere older and greener than a bean field with a new road through it.
