Overview
About Portarosa
Portarosa holds 149 addresses on 9.2 acres in northeast Brea, across six street names all of them Spanish: Sanabria carries 63, then Almeria, Portarosa, Adalina, Lucia and Cordero. Forty of the addresses carry a unit designator and the parcel layer records thirty parcels, thirteen of them residential, so the community mixes attached and detached forms on tight ground. The general plan divides the 11.2 mapped acres into 5.2 of Low Density Residential, 3.9 of General Commercial and 2.1 of parks and recreation.
None of the boundary falls in an elevated fire class. The parcel record dates every structure in Portarosa to 2017 or 2018, and no other community among the 43 the City of Brea maps has a later typical year built. It sits in Brea Olinda Unified, with Brea Country Hills Elementary 0.47 miles away holding 498 students, Olinda Elementary 0.77 miles with 649, and Brea Olinda High 1.32 miles with 1,676.

How Portarosa was built
Portarosa is the newest thing in Brea. The parcel record dates every structure inside the boundary to 2017 or 2018, and no other community among the forty-three Brea maps has a later typical year built. It is a gated group of 103 townhomes on nine acres beside Birch Hills Golf Course, set into a part of town otherwise laid out in the 1960s and 1970s.
The street names are Iberian. Almeria and Sanabria are places in Spain, Adalina and Lucia are given names, Maresol reads as sea and sun run together, and Cordero is Spanish for lamb, which is what this ground actually produced for forty years before anyone drilled for oil on it. Portarosa Lane, the spine of it, is the invented name the developer put on the whole thing and translates as nothing in particular, which is usually how these are made.
