How The Hamptons was built
Twenty three streets and every single one of them is a court. Four are English: Piccadilly, Soho, Greenwich and Chatham. Eight are first names: Constance, Gretchen, Haley, Jocelyn, Kaitlyn, Ryley, Carey and Rex. The other eleven wander off the map entirely, Ashbury, Astoria, Avon, Edgewood, Ensley, Greenborrow, Kirra, Lembogan, Sherrelwood, Southside and Sydney. It is 219 homes on 16.4 acres.
The Hamptons was built in 1994, two to four bedroom townhouses of 1,061 to 2,517 square feet. By then the city was two thirds built: the county had approved the master plan in 1979, the first homes had sold in March 1982, and Aliso Viejo would not incorporate until 1 July 2001, when it became Orange County's thirty fourth city on a 93.3 percent yes vote.
