How Glenwood Park was built
Twelve streets and every one of them a plant: Acorn, Bayberry, Beechwood, Big Pines, Cherrywood, Firwood, Marigold, Meadowood, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Silveroak and Twinberry. That is the naming convention of the whole Glenwood side of the city, where the village that surrounds the Aliso Viejo Country Club was laid out in the late 1980s and the 1990s, and where the streets in each phase were given a single theme and held to it.
Glenwood Park was built in 1989, attached homes of two and three bedrooms between 1,171 and 1,575 square feet, 268 of them on 24.6 acres, with a pool, spa, tennis courts and a fitness room. The county had approved the Aliso Viejo master plan ten years earlier and the first homes in the city had gone on sale in March 1982, so this belongs to the second wave rather than the first.
