How Tustin Village Mobilodge was built
The park opened on Williams Street in 1963 with 200 spaces, and the City of Tustin lists it in its historical resources survey as a district that reflects how the city housed its postwar arrivals. Its lanes are named for the men who mapped this coast and this continent: Balboa, Coronado, Cortez, De Anza, De Soto, Portola, Serra, Colombo, with Corona and Sonora among them.
Williams Street itself carries a Tustin name. It was called after Albert C. Williams, who came to the area in 1874, and later his son. South Tustin's streets were named that way as the city annexed farmland and covered it with housing between 1955 and 1965.
