How Sierra Verde was built
Sierra Verde means the green range, and every street inside it is a bird. Alondra is the lark, Pinzon the finch, Cuervo the crow, Colibri the hummingbird, Tirano the kingbird and Codoniz the quail. Six streets, six birds, and no other theme anywhere in the 145 homes.
The townhomes were built in 1989 in a Spanish idiom, in the middle of the city and a short walk from the Tijeras Creek Golf Club. Nearly a tenth of the ground was left as open space. Families here go to Arroyo Vista and on to Tesoro High, which puts Sierra Verde on the Capistrano side of the line that runs through the city.
