Overview
About La Habra Portola Walk
La Habra Portola Walk covers 2.4 acres and the city's address record carries 50 addresses inside the boundary, matching the 50 units on the association register, every one typed Condominium or Townhome. The addresses are written to five short interior lanes, Alta, Gaspar, Norte, Sonata and Sonota, and no public street centerline runs inside, so the drives are private.
All 2.4 acres fall under the La Habra Boulevard Specific Plan, one of the city's own overlay plans, and the general plan carries the lot as Residential Multi-Family 2. La Bonita Park is 0.26 miles away, 22.6 acres the city bought in 1957 and began developing in 1960, now carrying four lighted baseball diamonds and a large open field. The community feeds El Portal Elementary, Rancho-Starbuck Intermediate and La Habra High.

How La Habra Portola Walk was built
Gaspar de Portola's expedition found the gap in the hills on 30 July 1769, and the gap is what named the town. La habra is the pass. Seventy years later, in 1839, Mariano Reyes Roldan was granted 6,698 acres of the valley behind it as Rancho Canada de La Habra, and Abel Stearns bought the rancho in the 1860s.
Portola Walk carries that name on the west side of the city, out toward the Los Angeles County line, and it is the newest ground of any community in this guide. The 50 townhomes were laid out in February 2018, and the city's own land use record still describes the site as professional office, which is what stood here before them.
