How Mount Tract was built
Every street here is a mountain, and almost all of them are Californian. Mount Whitney is the highest peak in the lower forty eight states. Mount Shasta stands over the far north of the state. Mount Baldy is what everybody in Southern California calls San Antonio, the peak visible from the freeway on a clear winter morning. Mount Palomar carries the observatory, Mount Waterman sits in the San Gabriels above Los Angeles, Mount Lowe carries the memory of the railway that once climbed it, and Mount Dana and Mount Barnard are Sierra summits.
It is an unusually coherent scheme for a postwar neighborhood, and it points the imagination in a specific direction. On a clear day after rain the San Gabriels are visible from these blocks, which is presumably the whole idea. Around 182 homes sit on 43 acres between Holder and Shasta, on lots near a seventh of an acre.

Orangeview Junior High takes the middle grades with 612 students in grades 7 to 8, and Western High takes the high school years with 1,446 students in grades 9 to 12. Savanna publishes its elementary attendance areas as maps rather than as a locator, so confirm the elementary campus for a specific address with the district, and confirm the others before they matter to an offer.
