Three hundred and forty-three addresses on 47 acres where nineteen of the twenty street names carry the word lake, one of Brea's five mobile home parks.

            Overview

            About Lake Park

Lake Park runs 47.1 acres in west Brea and holds 343 addresses across 2.6 miles of street. Nineteen of the twenty street names its addresses carry hold the word lake: Forest Lake, Harbor Lake, Wood Lake, Shadow Lake, Terrace Lake, Knoll Lake, Crest Lake, View Lake, Sky Lake, Glen Lake, Fern Lake, Summer Lake, Clear Lake, Silver Lake, Pleasant Lake, Canyon Lake and Crown Lake, with Village Lake Mall running through the middle of them. The twentieth is North Puente Street, which carries a single address at the edge. North Forest Lake Drive carries 42.

The City of Brea's housing record names Lake Park Brea as one of the city's five mobile home parks, alongside Bandera Estates, Crestmont, Hollydale and Rancho Brea, and the county parcel record classifies 320 of the 327 homes inside the boundary as manufactured. The city's parcel layer records only nine parcels beneath all 343 addresses, the general plan carries 46.8 acres as Medium Density Residential, and the zoning is R-2 throughout. Wings, a 1981 work by Daniel J. Miller, stands inside the boundary. None of the 47.1 acres falls in an elevated fire class. Lake Park is one of four Brea communities served by La Habra City Elementary and Fullerton Joint Union High rather than by Brea Olinda: Sierra Vista Elementary is 0.88 miles away with 467 students, Washington Middle 1.17 miles with 580, and La Habra High 2.3 miles with 1,881.

            History

            How Lake Park was built

Lake Park Brea is a community for residents aged fifty-five and over at 625 North Puente Street, one of the five mobile home parks the City of Brea's housing record names. The homes went up between 1978 and 1987, most of them around 1979, and the county parcel record classifies 320 of them as manufactured. There is an actual lake at the center of it, with greenbelt paths running around the water.

The street naming is the most single-minded in Brea. Nineteen of the twenty street names inside the boundary carry the word Lake, from Clear Lake and Crown Lake through Shadow Lake, Silver Lake and Sky Lake to Wood Lake, and the twentieth is North Puente Street, which holds a single address at the edge. Wings, a 1981 work by Daniel J. Miller, stands inside the boundary, part of a public art collection the city has been building since 1975.
