About Rim Crest
Rim Crest covers 118.4 acres in two pieces and holds 340 addresses on 340 parcels, at a median lot of 0.18 acres. It is the only zone in the city where those two counts match exactly and where the assessor land use code marks every single parcel a single family residence, with no commercial, institutional or agricultural parcel anywhere inside it. The whole polygon is zoned Planned Development under the city's district 11, and the general plan designates 336 parcels R-Medium with the remaining four open space. Nineteen named streets run 3.02 miles inside the boundary, seven of the centerline segments private.
The street names run to woods: Black Forest Lane, Black Pine Circle, Blue Gum Drive, Chaparral Ridge Drive, Cypress Lane, Fallen Leaf Road, Forest Glen Road, Ravenswood Drive, Sherwood Drive and Singingwood Drive. Two hazards define the ground under them. An Alquist-Priolo earthquake fault zone covers 99.4 acres and the city flags 329 of the 340 addresses as sitting in it, 96.8 percent, the highest share of any zone in Yorba Linda. The 2025 fire hazard severity layer rates 118.3 of the 118.4 acres Very High, all 340 addresses are flagged high fire severity, and 106 of them carry a fuel modification requirement. How Rim Crest was built
The name is the ridge, and the streets say so plainly: Banyon Rim Road, Crest Drive, Canyon Terrace Drive, Chaparral Ridge Drive, Falconridge Road and Vista Glen Circle all run along or look off the rim, and 2.1 acres of Chino Hills State Park fall inside the boundary at the top. It is a compact community, 340 homes on 118 acres at a median lot under a fifth of an acre, tight by the standards of this city.
The rest of the map is trees and forests. Black Pine Circle, Cypress Lane, Forest Avenue, Forest Glen Road, Fallen Leaf Road, Singingwood Drive, Ravenswood Drive, Sherwood Drive and Black Forest Lane take the woods of Europe and the Sierra together.
