How Corte Melina was built
Corte Melina is a compact attached community near the middle of Rancho Santa Margarita, built in 1994 and 1995. The ground is the Plano Trabuco, part of the ranch James Flood and Jerome O'Neill bought in 1882, and the city's history is honest that nothing much happened up here until 1986, when the first master planned homes went on sale. Parkway extensions completed in 1992 finally gave the plain a proper connection to the rest of the county.
Its three streets are three Spanish cities: Via Pamplona for the Navarrese town of the bull run, Via Barcelona for the Catalan capital, and Via Cordoba for the Andalusian city of the great mosque. Three roads, three cities, a hundred and fifty six homes on seven and a half acres. It is one of the SAMLARC sub associations, so the Lago Santa Margarita, the Beach Club and the swim lagoon come with the address even though none of them are anywhere near these three streets.
