            History

            How Marina Hills was built

Marina Hills is the largest association boundary in the city at 359 acres, with 1,095 homes and nearly eleven miles of street inside it, and almost every street name is borrowed from the Mediterranean. Corfu, Mykonos, Killini and Argos come from Greece, Bellagio, Lucca, Genoa and Ravello from Italy, and Denia, Sitges and Son Morell from Spain.

The modern city began in 1959, when the Laguna Niguel Corporation bought the Daguerre share and hired the Viennese architect Victor Gruen, who had designed the first enclosed shopping mall in the United States three years earlier, to draw a town plan of 7,100 acres with close to a third of the developable land in parks and open space. Marina Hills carries that idea forward: 75 acres of open space and nine more zoned for park and recreation inside its own line, with 1.39 miles of trail crossing it. The city's record puts its years built from 1978 to 1999 with a median of 1990.

            Schools

            Schools serving Marina Hills

Capistrano Unified serves Marina Hills. The district's own locator was probed at five addresses inside the boundary and returned Niguel Hills Middle and Dana Hills High at every one, and split on elementary: George White at three of the five and Hidden Hills at the other two. Marina Hills straddles that elementary boundary, so confirm the campus for a specific address with the district before it matters to an offer.
