            Overview

            About Seacliff on the Greens

Seacliff on the Greens covers 38.4 acres measured against the city's published boundary and holds 142 residential addresses among the 164 the address layer records inside the line. No address carries a unit designator and the assessor classes all 142 dwellings as single-family residential. Five named streets serve the community across 0.96 miles, and four of them are named for championship golf courses: Turnberry, Oakbrook, Princeville and Gleneagles, with Woodlands Drive carrying the most addresses.

The homes are large and heavily amenitized. The assessor's median building is 3,706 square feet with a tenth to ninetieth percentile band of 2,622 to 4,388, on a median lot of 7,000 square feet, and 86 of the 142 dwellings carry a pool, which is three in five. The general plan designates the whole boundary residential medium density and city zoning reads 84.8 percent the same. All of the community sits inside the Coastal Zone appeal jurisdiction, in appeal zone 3. Pattinson Park and the county's Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park both lie within 250 meters, and the city bus stop layer records no stop inside the boundary or near it.

            History

How Seacliff on the Greens was built

SeaCliff Country Club opened in 1966 with a course by the architect J. Press Maxwell, and for two decades it sat as a green island in an oil field. When the surrounding land was finally released for housing, the course became the organizing idea for everything built around it. That is why the streets here are a roll call of famous golf, Turnberry, Gleneagles, Princeville and Oakbrook, with Woodlands Drive running through the middle of them.

Seacliff on the Greens itself is the parent community of that program. Of its 142 homes, 138 were finished in the 1980s starting in 1983, spread across about 38 acres, with a handful of later houses added into the 2010s. It is the oldest of the several Seacliff associations that ring the course, and the one the later ones were named after.
