How Fullerton Creek was built
The community is named for the watercourse beside it. Fullerton Creek comes out of the Puente Hills and runs southwest toward the southeastern edge of Fullerton before joining Coyote Creek in the San Gabriel River system. From the Fullerton Dam down to that junction the channel measures roughly ten and a half miles.
A seven acre greenbelt was built around a short stretch of the creek and opened in 1974. The association here was formed the following year around 70 homes, and the street names, Northcreek, Rockridge, Woodbriar and Ravenhill, keep the water and the ravine in view. The Fullerton Arboretum, 26 acres of former orange grove on the northeast corner of the Cal State Fullerton campus, is the other piece of green within walking distance.
