How Broadmoor Hills was built
The county carries construction years on 51 houses inside the boundary, 50 of them reading 1967 and the record stopping at 1969, so the whole community went up in about two building seasons. Four short streets serve 52 houses and none of them carries through traffic: Lighthouse Lane, Blue Water Drive, Island View Drive, and Salt Air Drive with its circle. They are names about the sea given to a place a mile inland that looks at it. The association keeps a common pool and picnic area, and roughly one acre in six inside the boundary is held as open space rather than built on.
The Broadmoor name is shared with Harbor View Broadmoor, the association immediately downhill, whose layout was recorded fifteen months earlier and whose houses all date to 1966. The two were drawn as neighbors and still read as one piece of the same 1960s hillside.
