            Summit Court

A 47.5-acre community inside the Summit Specific Plan, built on one 1991 tract map in a single year.

            Overview

            About Summit Court

Summit Court covers 47.5 acres off Oak Canyon Drive in east Anaheim, seven tenths of a mile of street on Country Glen and Oak Canyon. The county assessor records 24 parcels inside the boundary, 22 of them single family and two held as common ground, with a median parcel of 21,453 square feet, and the city's address layer records 309 addresses against them, so much of the housing here shares its ground rather than standing on its own lot.

The general plan divides the boundary between 26.0 acres of Open Space and 21.4 acres of Residential Low Medium Hillside, so more than half the community is slope. Zoning covers 45.8 acres under the Summit of Anaheim Hills Specific Plan. The city's footprint layer measures 34 buildings here, 33 of them dwellings and 33 at two stories. The boundary lies wholly in ZIP 92808 and in flood zone X, and Summit Court sits in Orange Unified School District.

            History

            How Summit Court was built

Summit Court was built in one go in 1991, all 309 of its addresses in a single year, on the eastern shoulder of Anaheim Hills inside the Summit of Anaheim Hills Specific Plan, which Anaheim adopted in 1988. Its two street names, Country Glen and Oak Canyon, say what the ground was before the grading started.

Louis E. Nohl took a deed to the Bixby holdings in the Santa Ana Canyon on 6 October 1943 and grazed 1,100 head across roughly 5,800 acres, and it was 4,200 of those acres, deeded away on 30 October 1970, that became Anaheim Hills. The east end where Summit Court sits was the last of it to be built, twenty years after the first houses went in near the golf course.
