            Aliso Viejo, CA

            Alize

A 17.9 acre community addressed off Enterprise, holding 487 addresses on the city's record, the densest of the fifty measured here.

            Overview

            About Alize

Alize covers 17.9 acres addressed off Enterprise, the only street name the city's address layer records inside the boundary. The city counts 487 addresses across ten parcels, 485 of them carrying a unit designator. That is 27 addresses to the acre, the highest measured density of the fifty Aliso Viejo communities on this site, and it sits close under the ceiling of 30 units to the gross acre that the municipal code sets for the Residential High Density zoning here.

Acorn Park lies 1,611 feet away, three acres with a sports field, a tot lot, a restroom, a drinking fountain, picnic tables, walkways and an information kiosk. Ridgecrest Park at 13 acres is 2,491 feet off and adds a tennis court, a basketball court, a garden and lighting, and Canyon View Park runs to 23.8 acres at 2,263 feet. Capistrano Unified's own address locator assigns this ground to Don Juan Avila Elementary for TK through grade 5, then Don Juan Avila Middle and Aliso Niguel High, and both Don Juan Avila campuses share a site 0.11 miles from the boundary.

            History

            How Alize was built

Aliso Viejo was designed around an argument about commuting. When the Mission Viejo Company bought the last 6,600 acres of the Moulton Ranch in 1976 and the county approved the master plan in 1979, the plan did something no California planned community had done before: it counted the jobs it expected to create against the workforce it expected to house, and tried to make the two match. The heart of that idea was Pacific Park, a business district of about 900 acres laid out to hold more than 22,000 jobs, with every home in the city within a mile and a half of it.

Alize sits inside that business core, 487 addresses on 17.9 acres, nearly all of them unit numbers behind one address, and its single street is called Enterprise. Alize is the French name for the trade winds, the steady easterlies that carried sailing ships west, and it is a fitting label for a place built where the city meant people to work. Don Juan Avila Middle and Don Juan Avila Elementary are both a tenth of a mile away, and they carry the name of the man who was given this land in 1842.

            Schools

            Schools serving Alize

Capistrano Unified serves Alize, and the district's own address locator returns one set of campuses across the boundary: Don Juan Avila Elementary for TK through grade 5, then Don Juan Avila Middle and Aliso Niguel High. The two Don Juan Avila campuses share a site 0.11 miles away, so here the assignment and the nearest school are the same, which is not the usual case in this city. The tiles below carry federal enrollment counts and distances measured from the city's published boundary. Confirm the campus for a specific address with the district before it matters to an offer.
